Will a neutered adult (4-year-old) male Yorkie still try to mount a female dog? I don't know if the female has been neutered. Do males do this, even neutered males who were neutered "late?"
Yes, if the female is not spayed and in heat the neutered male will try to tie and could possibly hurt himself, do not allow neutered males alone with unspayed females, it can cause serious injury, although no pregnancy will result. If the female has be spayed, then it's more of a dominance thing and they won't try to tie, but they will hump without any danger.
I am told he also lifts his legs to urinate and supposedly doesn't "mark territory" inside, but does outside.
