Meet Pickles, P-Nut's new little brother A few weeks after we stopped actively looking for yorkie #2 (we felt like things are good the way they are), I happened to check Petfinder.com and the cutest little 1 yr old purebred yorkie showed up. We took P-Nut to meet him last Friday and the two meshed so well, they acted like they'd been together always. We took little "Gordon" home that evening. He is now Pickles -- and 6lbs of absolute yorkie love - he's incredibly sweet. He's SO much smaller than P-Nut, it's amazing - I can carry him around without getting tired (LOL).
Officially, we're fostering Pickles for a couple of weeks, but will adopt him shortly. He was picked up as a stray by Animal Control here in San Jose and a rescue run by a vet pulled him from the shelter. He's got an injured rear leg, but x-rays show he doesn't have a fracture or a clear case of LCP -- there are some signs of potential LCP. Pickles has been on cage rest for a month and still holds the leg up about 80% of the time. The rescue will cover surgery if we go ahead with an FHO at some point (probably soon). We thought it would be perfect if we could help a little guy who will probably end up with the same surgery P-Nut had. He's going to our vet this week to get his input on the leg situation.
We love, love, love our new baby!!!! |
