Vet check For the most part, the vet only checks the obvious. He basically looks in the mouth to make sure there is not a cleft palate, checks if there is a hernia (something that is not rare in yorkie pups), checks to see if the soft-spot on the head is larger than normal, listens to the heart and lungs for any irregularities, etc. There generally is no blood-work or anything invasive done. Some defects don't even show up till several months, or even a year or two.
I don't know what to recommend as far as questions to ask, except if all the above things look ok. More often than not, the pups are healthy and fine. Good luck! |
