That is a great post! I wish I was educated bf I got Daisy....don't get me wrong bc I love her with all my heart. She has made me smile and she has been a loving and loyal companion. But on the other hand It has been has been 9.5 yrs of vet bills and stress.
I am glad we have her, I love her and she has been the sweetest most loving friend and companion. It just breaks my heart every time She gets sick. I know it is bc she was bought at a pet store bf I even knew what a puppy mill was.
When we got Daisy I think she was only 8 weeks even though they said she was 12. She was sick and had kennel cough and would not let you pet her. I had to slowly gain her trust by using treats to get her to come near me so I could pet her. The first week we had Daisy we spend 800.00 in vet bills. I tried to contact the pet store and they said that she got a clean bill of health from their vet !!BS!!!
I then started to do research trying to find her breeder and when I found where she came from it broke my heart. I felt committed to giving her a good life.
Within 3 months of having Daisy we spent over 2,000 in vet bills. People were saying to me put her down she is costing you too much money

I refused to listen and I did not give up on her.
It has been something every yr with Daisy and the Vets always say this is the dog with the amazing history. I have a book of files on her. It is amazing what she has been through. I am sure it is to the in breeding
I am happy to say that the pet store was shut down due to buying and selling puppy mill dogs.
I guess what I am saying is Don't buy from a pet store or byb, or bc your chances of ending up with an unhealthy dog is high bc THEY JUST DON'T CARE.....THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.
