Don't feel like an idiot. When I first became a retailer, BB politely told me that the one I had on Teddy was slightly too big around the arms. I moved him down to the half size, which was relatively new at the time.
The different feel of the harness may also be affecting Wallee. When I first put one on Max, he was reluctant and gave me this look like, "Are you sure I am secure and hooked up to you in this?" For him, it was super comfortable and gave him a freedom of movement that he didn't have in his previous harness.
