Mandie's whiskers are pretty thick. I've never thought about trimming them. I know animals have certain aspects for a reason. I'm sure these whiskers came in very handy when Yorkies were originally bred for the purpose of being ratters.

Very cool article, Jeanie.

I just always use a wide tooth comb and pin brush on Mandie's face first and then, I use the mustache comb...I'm always gentle and try not to tug on her whiskers as I am sure that would hurt (it would hurt ME lol).

I am curious though...dogs that have anxiety attacks when storms are coming - this article mentions their whiskers help them feel the vibrations of the storm coming..I wonder if trimming whiskers on those particular dogs would help them with their anxiety at all...? Something to ponder...
