How big is your yorkie? Most yorkies should not be left outside alone because there are many many things that can hurt him and it sounds like one of those things could have scared him. It is also not good to leave large dogs and small dogs alone together because a larger dog could hurt the smaller one even on accident. So Many things could have happened. Have you checked him all over for any bites or wounds?
