It's really important to have a nutritionally balanced diet. Many people write a recipe that might be okay for a human, but it’s not balanced for a dog, adding a few vegetables doesn’t make it balanced, dogs need different nutrients, and I’m not seeing near enough calcium. Most home made meals add suppliments, while you don't need a suppliment for a "treat", you do for his regular meal. Not sure why your dog got diarrhea, there’s been a lot of controversy on adding garlic, and until more research is done, I think I’d leave out the garlic. Two gloves of garlic per pound of hamburger does seem to be on the high side for a dog and too much garlic can cause diarrhea. Giving your dog a new food might also cause diarrhea, the first time you feed something new you should just give a taste or teaspoon full, or some people give a probiotic with new food. Probiotics introduce bacteria to the intestines that help they digest unfamiliar foods. Also, just eating too much might cause diarrhea. Did you give him a whole cup of this?
