Honestly, I don't think that supplements are really NECESSARY if a pup is eating a well balanced diet. It might be good idea to add something for the skin & coat if you notice dryness. I know that my pups get really dry in the winter from the indoor heat. I've used Halo Dream Coat with great success. I've used Grizzly Salmon Oil too. I also gave my little rescue Solid Gold Sea Meal when she was a puppy. She wasn't very healthy & came to me from a stressful environment. For me, the thing that worked better than any supplement was switching foods to Royal Canin. I've tried numerous high-end & holistic foods, but I switched to RC a few months ago & there's been a tremendous improvement in their coats. Congrats on your new puppy!!!
