I hated to read this and once again get scared about this stuff. We have to use it in Texas so I don't have a choice and Tibbe's due date for his next preventative dose is coming up in 10 days or so. He's been on Heartgard since we ran out of Interceptor but this last dose of it - well, the next day he got sick. Of course, he's been having the trouble every so often for a year so this could very well have been coincidental. We're seeing the vet Thursday and we'll discuss what to change to in light of his likely MVD and gulp, go from there. I sure wish we they made more HW preventative without the extras in it now that I know Tibbe has high BAT - though not sure how his underlying problem is affected by heartworm preventative. This is all too scary. I hope you find something Galen can take safely, Teri.
