I should have posted this days ago but I think I've been in shock and denial.

They had to rush Jada to the ER at UAB in Birmingham on Friday. She had only been out of the hospital from a 3 weeks stay for less than a week. Her stats and numbers started to plummet!!

They said she had a "type" of pneumonia in those diseased lungs and she needed to rest and heal. They put her in a heavily sedated state and put her on a ventilator.

Yesterday, they did surgery to do a tracheotomy because it gives better access for the ventilator AND she needs to be awake. If lungs were found for her transplant right now, she couldn't even get them because she is too sick. UGH!!!

Here's the update last night from my sister:
"Real quick update: recovering from surgery. Some things improving, but not everything he wants...yet. Will bring her up in the morning, but, honestly, friends and family, he is afraid that if she is not significantly better on the next 24 hrs or so (I.e. awake and alert, sitting up, maybe walking a few steps) she may be too sick for transplant. That being said, she is NOT out yet! God is in control, and He will receive the glory! even if we don't receive the outcome WE think He should give us, all praise and honor go to Him! Thank you for your continued prayers <3"

With that, she updated a few hours later and said this:

My Buggie-girl smiled at me tonight. We can all sleep now. Tomorrow we show the CF just how much fight we've got! Several hurdles have already been jumped but a few stand between her and a solid place on that list! Prayers for Jada's peace and courage as she learns to work with and not against this ventilator.

Prayers - as many as we can send up. Please please please!!! It would totally suck to have her this close, find lungs right this minute, and she can't even get them.

Bottom line - she is not leaving the hospital off of the ventilator. It's new lungs or hospital til.....

I am not even going to finish that sentence because I will not Quit until God says so. Only HE knows what is meant to be and He will make this right - whatever "right" is.
