Heartworms are pretty nasty to get rid of -- I read somewhere that if your pet contracts them it could be around $300 to treat, and they're also very dangerous. I personally use Trifexis because it also controls fleas and other parasitic worms because to be honest parasitic worms freak me out pretty badly. I have issues walking around barefoot now because I'm such a spazz about it! I used to have Nilla on Interceptor which didn't have the flea protection, but I have yet to see it back on the market again. -shrugs-
