I would also be careful feeding him cheese. The higher fat in cat food and the cheese could be causing him gastro problems. I would also worry about pancreatitis, although it is debatable if there is a direct link with too much fat.
Thanks for all the wonderful advice. Our cat food is not left out and we stand over their bowls when they eat to keep him out and to monitor their intake for weight reasons. He just steals the little pieces that end on the floor from their bowls. He seems to be hungry finally as he is barking for my lunch which he cannot have so going to try to get him to eat some cooked ground beef. He is refusing the chicken now but I'm not surprised cause he is very picky.
