I don't want the father and daughter pair to breed obviously just so that I have his bloodline, and so that I could keep the family together. I love my dogs and by no means would I breed irresponsibly. I think your attacking the wrong person.
What did I say that made you feel like I was attacking you? If you think I'm negative towards your breeder that is correct. You say in your first post that you paid more so that you would have breeding rights because the breeder said he was good breeding quality. Sorry, but this sounds more like a marketing technique, not something someone who cares about the breed would say. If he was under 10 months when you bought him, your breeder had no way to tell if he was good quality, and I don't care who his dad is. I personally think it’s wrong for breeder to charge more for breeding rights and a dog is either good enough to breed or he isn’t, but either way, there’s no way she would know that early. A good breeder would suggest you show him to see if he does meet standard. You say she’s a champion breeder; she must understand the importance of showing and must know that champions don’t always begat champions.

Just because she did genetic testing on her dogs, don’t forget, you must also do genetic testing on him and these tests are expensive for a one time breeding stud service. I hope this great breeder doesn’t suggest you skip them. You asked a question, “Would he mark and if we thought it was worth it.” Experienced breeders here answered, “Yes, he will mark” (and by the way, unaltered dogs' marking is much stronger smelling), and I answered no it isn’t worth because of some of the other problems, such as your breeder is using you and it’s not worth it just to save on the cost female. If, as you say, “It's not about the cost, you just wanted to have a female from his bloodline,” than my suggestion is that you buy another female instead of using him as a stud. A working dog is a working dog and a stud is a working dog. If you want a pet dog you can take everywhere, you will be much happier with a neutered dog.
