If you can't afford vet care for your dog when he seems ill, please do surrender him so he can get the needed help. Cal the vet, Humane Society, SPCA, Yorkie Rescue in your area, whomever. It's the kind and humane thing to do. You brought this little dog into the world and owe him good care and a chance to thrive. In the meantime, I would get some Nutrical or local honey, Karo Syrup or something on his gums while you get ready to take him in.
