All I can say is I poured vinegar on my carpet and I could still smell it, especially when it was hot and humid. Maybe mine was worse and needed something stronger? I would give the vinegar a shot but if it doesn't work then I'd recommend Nature's Miracle. Read through some of the threads, it may take more than one treatment to get rid of the odor.
