You are so right. It's very easy to tell the difference at a dog show, the specimens in the show ring to a high degree are such great examples that it doesn't take an expert eye to distinguish between the two. It's out "in the wild" where it becomes difficult. My teapot doesn't have the silky look (and isn't a good example of a Yorkie, either), but she sure does make a well-bred Silky look small!
