My puppy actually came from a broker who got there puppies from an Amish puppy mill in that area. I had no idea about brokers until I found this site and researched some names on my pups papers. In my opinion these are things I would look for in finding a breeder they do health and genetic testing, you can go to there house, if they have an out building you can tour it, you can see the parents, the mother is not under 5 pounds, the puppies are registered AKC, they have a decent health guarantee, the breeder doesn't breed massive amounts of dogs or mixes and puppies are not taken from there mom until 12 weeks. I would also google there name and or there kennel name to see if you can find any info out about them. I know if you go and look at a puppy mill it will be hard to walk away with out a pup because you feel bad for it but think about the poor breeding dogs and that by buying that pup your helping the puppy mill stay in business and continue to abuse these poor animals.
