We had rattle snakes in CA, and I never encountered one until I killed a nonpoisonous king snake. It was HUGE and in my outside entryway and I didn’t know it was nonpoisonous. I had two young children, and I did a Jodi Arias on it. A few months later I found a rattlesnake curled up under the car. I let my husband kill that one.
