Yes, she was being judgmental. But when you made the the statement in bold above, you were also being judgmental. So you're even.
We all have to be judgmental every day of our lives, or we couldn't make decisions. We have to decide if someone is a good or bad person so that we know if we should be friends or stay away from them. We have to make a judgment to decide whether something we want to do is right or wrong. We have to make a judgment every time there is a choice to be made regarding what will give the best outcome.
In general, there is nothing wrong with judging, weighing out the possibilities is what helps us decide on the best course of action. If you ask for advice, nobody can give it without first making a judgment of the situation. If the responder had ridiculed you for something that they themselves were guilty of, that would be hypocrisy and not acceptable, but in this case I don't think they held you up to a standard that they didn't also follow and expect of themselves.
