I have always given a thumbs up
to bully sticks until Ransom arrived. They now are no longer allowed in our house.
I say this for only one reason and that is purely cosmetic and not health related really.
After chewing the stick and it becoming soggy and gluey in texture as is normal for these sticks. Ransom seems to have the abilty along with chewing to suck strands of his hair into his mouth which make its way along to the back of his throat.
The clumps of hair lodge and become horribly nasty. This happens each and everytime Ransom chews on them. If I am lucky I can gently wash this gooey mess out of his hair. Once not so lucky and i had to cut a small chunk off.
His face becomes so darn sticky and strands of the soggy stick just get's all over his hair.
So, it's not fair to have Ransom watch Schatzie chew one and not have one himself so we decided to end our love/hate relationship with the bully sticks.
