It's the long hair.... My chihuahuas stay smelling good and clean for 2 weeks. I use the waterless shampoo in between. But the yorkie every time we go for a walk he smells funny. The waterless shampoo is great but my vet says the more you bathe the more oily the hair will be therefore it will trap more bad odors.
