Default need some advise...

spoke with the vet again yesterday. I wanted her to prescribe an appetite stimulator for Deever because he has been rejecting his dog food and K9 cancer supplements for over a week. He has lost 4 pounds over the last 10 months and has no reserve left. He's skin and bones. He eats steak and chicken without too much coaxing and I am managing to get in his heart medication 2x a day. But she said there is nothing she can do for him at this point, and keeps asking me about his quality of life. She said when he starts rejecting home cooked meals then I should bring him in to be put down. I have a feeling now that he's not taking the K9 supplements the cancer will take over rapidly. I don't know if I should or just get the inevitable over with before he has any pain or discomfort. He's almost 17, his age is not helping him. I just can't seem to bring myself to have him put down. He's not giving me the look, or maybe I don't want to see it. I'm so confused.
