Heartworms are transmitted by mosquito bites. Mosquitoes can get into your house. I would talk to your vet about heartworm preventatives.
I don't let my boys in our yard because we have so many dangerous things (tons of toxic plants, a hawk living in our trees, and more), but we do go for walks every day. They love the outdoors!
Don't let fleas, ticks, and HW be the reasons to keep Jasmin indoors. Those things can be prevented.
