She may have completely torn it this time. She needs to be seen by a board certified surgeon imho. She is going to have severe arthritis and live her life in pain if it is not repaired.
I don't think you can compare your knee ligaments to hers....and honestly you have a choice...she does not.
I will keep her in my prayers.
