Perhaps something like, "My vet has told me I really need to notify AC about this.....he worries about other animals and children, and when a dog bites a child or attacks another animal, it needs to be reported, especially in light of the amount of damage done and the cost of the medical care." See what they say then. They may offer to at least HELP with the cost of the care, if they think that will keep you from reporting it....depending on the circumstances of HOW your baby came into contact with their dog....they apparently feel they have no culpability in it.
