Earlier testimony she said she's very frugal, I think this is actually pretty true of her and I think her story was something like, I didn't use the can, so I returned it. (I’m also pretty sure Juan has proof she filled up three cans, which would be a second lie.) This was a minor lie, but Juan's point was you promised to tell the truth now, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and so even a minor lie means something. Many of the jurors will want to believe she's turned over a new leaf and only lied about killing him, but if everything she says now is the truth, this minor lie proves that you really can't believe anything she says. I think it’s was pretty smart of Juan to pick a point that her lawyers didn’t go over with her and didn’t help her practice. She could of easily said, I can’t remember.
