It's been over 2 hours after his Metronidazole and he's okay. (He did have 5 mg. of it at the vet yesterday and survived that.) He went outside in the cold wind, came in, ate 10 more kibble pieces I fed him and I handed him his chewie and he took it, even started half-heartedly trying to hide it and his tail came up like a flag. He trotted into the living room and down the hall with it - and I called him off - don't want him stressing his system or liver. He brought his chewie back to the couch and now he's asleep again with his chewie beside him. Shades of normalcy are so precious.
