Also as with any head injury they need to watch for cognitive signs. Making sure she is reacting to light, sound and that sort of thing. Humans with head injury go through the same thing. No pain meds until the swelling is down and they are reacting to sight and sound again.

I agree that there are good reasons why the vet is not giving her pain medication. Glad to hear she is conscious and eating from a syringe! Keep us posted on her progress!
