I have not heard of deafness. I have not even seen a Parti or Biewer in person, but have admired them through photos of other members.
I have often heard that the Biewer's have a calmer temperament than Yorkies in general. Yet, as with any breed, personalities can differ even within one breed. I have a very sweet, mellow Yorkie
