Now that that is said, her pads are very soft and tender. Could be they got sore on her first walk. Also the pavement could be too warm for those tender pads. Right now, just walk her around in her own yard with harness and leash for training. Don't pull on her. Let her lead the way while you just follow her. I did feel the pavement with my hand first, and it was a little toasty, but tolerable. This afternoon, she went halfway down the driveway with me. Then I took her into the front yard to sit with me in the grass, smell dandelions, and watch bees (safely from a distance
). I won't take her where there are other dogs (or other animals) until after her 16 week shots.
