Well, that person that said that was rude - and ignorant of the actual meaning of purebred. Many Yorkies don't conform in one or many ways to the AKC Yorkshire Standard Standard - in colors, size, body/head type, coat, etc., but that doesn't mean that didn't come from a long lineage/generations of nothing but other Yorkshire Terriers. I think your baby is darling and has the coloring of many Yorkies on YT and in the world today - many of whom are purebred. Not many of today's Yorkies that I see have the absolute correct colors or other features detailed in the standard. Tibbe is colored much like your little cutie but has many other "faults" and yet, he's still purebred, as he's a product of generations of breeding nothing but Yorkie to Yorkie.
Here is the Dictionary.com definition of "purebred":
pure·bred/adj. ˈpyʊərˈbrɛd; n. ˈpyʊərˌbrɛd/ Show Spelled [adj. pyoor-bred; n. pyoor-bred]
adjective
1. of or pertaining to an animal, all of whose ancestors derive over many generations from a recognized breed.
noun
2. a purebred animal, especially one of registered pedigree.
Just let her comments role off your back. A person that would say something like that to another person about their little dog was no doubt trying to be nasty and arrogant to serve to somehow make her feel superior fulfill some need. Some people are so miserable, they can't be happy until they have brought others down to their level of unhappiness.
