Absolutely! Heart worms can kill your dog the smaller they are the riskier treatment for heart worms is. There was a story on here about a yorkie who got heart worms and died. It is also a very expensive treatment. Don't take the risk give your dog heart worm prevention every month and test yearly. Its not worth the risk. The cost can be the life of your dog.
