| Welcome to YorkieTalk, Danny! Your new puppy is adorable! I know everyone has made it through the puppy days with whatever worked for owner and puppy, and a good night's sleep definitely works for all! I purchased a small round puppy/cat bed for Eva (our first Yorkie) to sleep in at night, because she was so small. I put her in the little bed by my side at night (in our bed) and Eva slept all night. I think the little bed gave her security and being beside me let her know she wasn't alone. I wrote that she slept all night, and she did, but during the first weeks she would wake up at least once during the night with a whimper. I would take her straight away to the piddle pad and she would use it, everytime. That might not work for everyone, but it worked with Eva. When Bella came home to us, she was almost 5 months old, and by then Eva was already 5 months old. I ditched the little round bed and Eva and Bella have slept with us everynight since. IF they ever have to relieve themselves during the night, they will wake me up by licking my face. I don't know why they do that, but it works. |
