I agree with lady jane and Cathy. If you want to cook you MUST get a nutritionist that specializes in pet nutrition.
I have just gone through this very difficult decision process myself. Sam has renal disease. I did a lot of research and at this time I am feeding the hills k/d to him. He likes it and I am not sure if I am ready to take on the precision of cooking for a sick dog.
My vet was so so about homecooking. He supports it but not for sick dogs.. and he made some valid points...one is like Cathy and Linda said, it is important to go to a reliable source
