I've flown with my dogs to New Mexico 4x now. I haven't done it in 3 years though since last week. Well they always had me take them out of the carrier to bring them through the metal detector with me, but this time they also took us aside with the dogs in our arms (hubby had 1 and I had the other) and they swabbed our hands and ran the cloth through a machine looking for chemical residue.
I, innocent me, had to ask why they did that, and the guy told me that people do BAD things to animals to get drugs onto planes!!!!!
I was HORRIFIED!!!! I mean totally HORRIFIED!!!! I hugged my pups so close and told the guy that that was DISGUSTING and that my boys are my BABIES and I could not imagine an animal being hurt in that way. He looked so sad and said something like people can be monsters.
