I purchased a yorkie from Melanie Hamilton of ShadyHill Yorkies in 2011. Hisname was Rudy and he was the love of my life. I had him for 2.5 years untilthis October when he suddenly fell VERY ill. I took him to the vet and he wasrushed to an Emergency center and diagnosed with a probable fatal liver shunt. He underwent 2 operations and almost a week in intensive care and hospital andafter over $10,000 and lots of tears, I lost him. It killed me and even thoughI did everything that I thought would save my best friend I lost him and havethis overwhelming medical debts now to deal with. I contacted Melanie and informed her as to what happened. She felt awful andtold me that she would replace the puppy for all that I had been through. Shetold me her next litter was due around Thanksgiving. Now she will not returnany of my calls or emails. I guess my question is what I can do. She wrote tome in an email and promised me another puppy. Does this hold up in court as acontract? Is there any recourse that I can take? The original contract onlyguaranteed the puppy up to one year, however she offered me a new puppy in anemail. This isn't right. I have had my hopes up and now am crushed again. Any advice would be appreciated. |
