I can only speak from the experience of a single yorkie home. Bentley is not yappy unless given a reason. Yes he will bark at the cat when he tries to play with her. But then don't all dogs.
I can't even get him to speak at a command. I tell him speak and bark at him and he just cocks his head to the side and huh, are you crazy?
