So, it's not 100%...nothing is. But it is still very effective. I hope reading this statement doesn't talk someone into thinking it's "ok" not to give heartworm prevention. Remember the analogy of the birth control pill - if you aren't wanting what you are preventing, then the meds are a gazillion times worth taking!  | This is right on the money. They test to make sure there isn't heartworms because some heartworm preventative could harm our pets if they happen to be heartworm positive.
