Default How Bella got her name…

I know that there are a lot of Yorkies named Bella, and that it's a common Yorkie name. I was wondering whether there are any interesting stories out there of how people came to name their Yorkies Bella. This is my story:

My partner and I had reserved a female Yorkie at the local breeder's, so we knew we were getting a female, and had a few weeks to come up with a name. We were watching the British detective series Midsomer Murders on Netflix, and in one episode, there was a character named Arabella. It sounded like a classy name to me, plus I remembered this ghastly song by the 1960's British progressive rock group The Nice named "Little Arabella." I took another listen to the song on youtube (you can hear it here: ) and thought it was hysterical and very puppy-like, with bouncy organ music and lyrics like:

"Little Arabella, she's always out of her head.
She lives in a daydream, she never understands what she said.
She carries a flower, long after everyone said it's dead.
And if you see her, you'll never believe her head."

"Little Arabella, she giggles her way into bed.
A skirt around her ankles, smoke coming out of her head.
She wakes in the morning, looks and there's nobody in her bed.
And if you meet her, you'll never believe her head."

On the other hand, my partner wanted to name her Isabella from the character in the Twilight Saga, Isabella "Bella" Swan. So I kidded him and told him that we'd have to nickname the dog "Isaboo" (Rachel Ray's dog) or "Libby." Well that didn't go over well, and he didn't want to name the dog Arabella, so we settled on Bella as a compromise. And when Bella is bounding around the house doing funny puppy things, I play "Little Arabella" on youtube, and my partner has learned to sing along, LOL! So that's how our Bella got her name.
