We had the same issues breeding. Kenzy's spirit was VERY willing but his legs were not tall enough. We tried all of the helping tricks but everytime we approached him while he was "doing his thing" he would just back off or stop completely.
Ultimately, we had to take them to the Vet's office - we found a breeding specialist in the Dallas area - who was able to make it happen for us and Paddy got pregnant the very first try. Not sure if that would be an option for you - but it really was not expensive at all. Good luck!
