Ok. Don't laugh at me, but I have found the least stressful way to bathe Huey is to put him in the tub with me. Dh makes fun of this, but that way he can stand up on my legs when he gets nervous. He absolutely freaks at a sink/sprayer bath and the whole kitchen and I get soaked, so the tub is just easier. If I put him in the tub but don't get in with him, then my back is killing me by the time I am done, and I'm soaked anyway. So, that is my solution.
