Mine hate baths. I bathe in a utility sink, because it's deep. Mine also like to stand with their paws on the edge of the sink. So the deep sink keeps water from going everywhere. It's also easier on my back than in a tub. I use a handheld shower that I connect to the faucet. It's easier for me to move my hand, than to move my dog.
I also keep everything I need (shampoo, conditioner, face wash, towels) with in arm's reach & open. Nothing's worse than trying to open a bottle of conditioner with a slippery, soapy hand when your pup is trying to climb out of the sink. I also prepare the drying, grooming area prior to the bath so my wet pup doesn't have to wait for me to get everything set up.
I use a washcloth to rinse their face. I feel like I can control that better than a cup. I squeeze the water from washcloth over their snout to rinse that area & keep the water from getting in the nose. I also use a soft toothbrush to clean around the eye area & the mustache. I've just found that a toothbrush helps clean any crusty eye stuff & I can keep the shampoo from getting in their eyes.
I brush them prior to the bath, to make sure I'm not snarling up any tangles that may be in their coat. I also comb their coat when the conditioner is in it.
That's pretty much all I can think of. Oh, neither one of mine like having their faces dried with the hairdryer. I'm assuming all Yorkies are that way, since both of mine are. They like to burrow their head in a towel while I'm drying their face. So I always have an extra dry towel for them to burrow...whatever makes them more comfortable. Lol
Good luck with the bath! Mine have gotten a lot better since they were puppies. They now know the routine. I don't think they like it, but they know it's unavoidable. So they tolerate it
