That woman brought her sons and her whole family to this country and it took them all in, even let one become a citizen. It kept them safe until the sons turned on it and its innocent citizens in the streets. The father even called one of those brave policemen who were chasing his boys before they could set off more bombs or kill another policeman or kid, a coward for shooting his son, the bomber and killer and maimer! A coward?!?! Seriously?

If this country was so awful, why didn't the mother and father go to Greece or Italy or Japan or Turkey or Saudi Arabia with her family? If this country is so distrustful, why not go to Russia or China - if they would even have allowed them in so they could leave their war-torn country? Wonder what kind of justice her sons would have gotten there? From what I hear, people in Japan weren't told of the terrors they faced from that nuclear plant after the earthquake, Greece's politicians have its people striking and marching in the streets from the mishandling of their economy and burdened under huge taxes now, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and China all have their own legal/imprisonment issues with their own citizens claiming terrible police and law enforcement climates and conditions, believe me - as does any country. So many countries have and always have had corruption and police states through history where the public has little or no rights. But from what I've read and heard from friends living abroad, no other country seems to struggle as hard to assure its citizens rights to free legal council and fair trials and all types of watchdog groups allowed to exist to help ensure defendants are treated as fairly as possible when arrested for any alleged crime. I'm not saying our legal system parts the Red Sea or doesn't get it wrong at times, but from what I hear of other countries' legal systems, I'll take America's! Distrust America? Compared to other places I hear about and read about, I'm thankful for what we have here.
Well hurricane sandy was a NATURAL disaster not a man made one that COULD have a questionable cause. Not to mention, I live in Manhattan and I WATCHED the East river flood the FDR Drive. So I would have to be one big fool to not believe. lol. But to clarify, I said "I'm not QUICK to believe everything I hear" For example when Hurricane Katrina happened and the news was saying how FEMA was doing this and trying to do that...while residents (and some family friends) were saying otherwise.

Now on to address the mother, I feel you are judging her, but have no idea what it's like being in her shoes. Yes to you her feelings can come across a little offensive especially if her boys really are the ones who did this. But at the end of the day they are still her SONS. She carried, birthed and raised them for 20+ years. Theres a unexplainable connection and personal bond she has with them. So what should a normal reaction be? She knew these boys all their lives and (claims) she's never seen anything suspicious....then overnight her boys are public enemy # 1 and committed some of the most horrendous crimes. Would a mother not be in shock? Not know who to trust or what to believe at first?

And let's be honest MAJORITY of parents of killers, rapist, or law offenders...never believe at 1st. what do they always say...."When I first heard it. I didn't believe them."...."it took me some time to come to reality and accept what my child did."..."if someone would have told me a few years ago that my child would to grow up into a serial killer I would have told them they're lying." So what's so different now?

And I'm sorry, but I'm tired of other Americans making it seem like America Is so giving and sheltering, and if Immigrants have any opinions against America, then they're told "why did you come here?...why didn't you move someplace else." How would you know if their mother wasn't grateful for the OPPORTUNITIES America has provided her? Has she told you this herself, because I don't understand how being in shock and questioning something is being ungrateful. And YES she could've picked any other place to live but she chose America. But I'm pretty sure like MOST other immigrants what shelter she had created for her son's, she made it happen. Not America.

As a daughter of immigrants, everything that my parents have today they've EARNED and gotten THEMSELVES!! My mothers degree, her job...she earned it and had to work twice as hard for it BECAUSE she was an immigrant. No one will EVER be able to stare my mother in the eyes and tell her that everything she has, was given to her by America. And please the only thing America gives immigrants are a kick in the a** and green cards, and even that's hard to get.

Now I don't want anyone to think that I'm bashing or bad mouthing America because I'm not. And trust me I'm very grateful to live here and to raise my son in a diverse and ever expanding country like this. But my gratefulness will never hold my tongue from saying what needs to be said.

And I honestly don't even want to touch the topic of the judicial system. Not to say that it hasn't ever been effective...I'm just not a fan. The fact that cops can kill someone before their wedding and get away with it, Mothers can kill their daughters and gets away with it, and innocent people are sentenced to death and killed in jail for something they never did is really mind boggling. As a proud American and all I will never open my mouth and say I trust it, or fully support it.
