Willow was in the end stages of renal failure. Her body was shutting down. Now she is pain free and running with all the other pups that have gone on. I found this poem last night and wanted to share it with anyone that is going through this tough decision and anyone who may have to go through it.




When I look into your eyes
I know what I must do -
Its become a struggle for you to move
and your breaths are so heavy too.
Everyday I let you live in pain
is such a selfish thing to do.

Please forgive me for wanting one more day with you.
You cannot run or play anymore
You can barely stand up to pee
I need to let you leave this world with some dignity.

In my hands you entrust your fate
I'd rather be a day too early
than to be a day too late.
I will be by your side to comfort you
till the very end
When your soul is free
of your body's misery
Goodbye my sweet girl
Thank you for being my best friend.
