Don't know if it'll cook your veggies for you but if something steps into it, it'll send a little wave your way. Back when we had our Pointers, the grass grew up over the wire (hubby isn't much of doing squat outside). Anyway, the THICK grass actually grounded out the wire and the way we found out was our male Pointer climbed out of a 5 ft. cattle gate and got hit by a car...right in front of the house. I was devistated.
