Callie was a terrible barker at night oh my goodness I was so tired the first month I was like a zombie. Have you tried putting the crate where he can see you when your in bed? I would take Callie out to potty and then put her in her crate when she started the barking and ignore her. It is very hard to do the ignoring but that is what you have to do because if you respond and take them out they will know the barking will get them what they want. Good luck puppies are hard work. There is also something called a snuggle puppy that has a heat pack inside and a heart beat and that might help.
