Sharon Center, a researcher at Cornell University, needs blood samples of any breed dogs that are known to have or had a liver shunt. They are close to getting the markers identified that will help to know which parents of puppies that could pass along the genetic marker for liver shunt. This study does not include dogs with MVD (microvascular dysplasia).
Cornell needs a blood sample from any breed dog that is known to have this condition. Sharon asks for the dog owners to contact her direct if they would like to participate in this study. She will then work directly with their veterinarian to get the blood sample and then have it shipped to her. She is hopeful that the veterinarians will donate their professional services and participation to help in this study.
The contact is Sharon Center, 607-253-3060,
sac6@cornell.edu, she will return calls and emails as quickly as she can, these are her work contact info.
Permission to crosspost: please contact Sharon direct for any information regarding this study.
