I have heard horror stories and read about dogs dying and getting lost at Petco and Petsmart groomers....not just a couple of stories but an above average number of accidnets for my acceptance...I never recommend them to my buyers...if you do go with them, I would strongly suggest you stay there and watch them in action....
Puppies have that fuzzy undercoat of puppy fur and it can easily get matted right down next to their skin, underneat their dark coat that you are probably brushing when you do brush her....you are not getting down thru that long coat to the fuzzy hair next to the skin....that is why she is saying your baby is matted....and boy does it mat! And if that is indeed the case, you are going to have to shave it down to get thru it...and your baby will not look the same to you....if she is a true black, which a lot of cotton coated dogs are, she will be black when you shave all that hair down.....her skin will be dark under that coat...separate the hair down to her skin....her skin will be dark, not a pinkish white....
