I love the Madan brush from Jenny at toplinepet.com, but I also love a wooden pin brush. Maximo sells them, and its very massaging to brush with it. I think both brushes are important, and I also love the mustache comb that Jenny sells. I have read here that cornstarch can break apart mats, but I haven't tried it. Good luck with your baby.
